CBA and the SF Pride Parade

According to the synopsis of the minutes of the January meeting of the Board of Directors, the CBA has agreed to fiscally sponsor an entry ("float") in the San Francisco Pride Parade in June.

I left the meeting before this matter was discussed, but I'm told that 20-30 of Ted Kuster's (who made the request) supporters were in attendance, some of whom openly identified as proponents of some sort of alternate- gender persuasion.  In sum, this left me wondering...

Is this activity in accordance with the aims and stated mission of the CBA ?

Does our participation constitute a political statement ?

Were any of the CBA legal advisors consulted about this decision ?

For whom (what organization) is the CBA providing insurance coverage and receiving donations ?

Will the CBA be identified on the parade entry ?

Is this an activity in which the CBA should be involved ?  Is there a net benefit to the CBA ?  Will our tax-exempt status be put in Jeopardy ?
