Cameron's column

Cameron's column really hit home. I'm so sorry for what happened to your Grandma Mary, and could totally relate. My mom signed my older brother and me up for guitar lessons when I was twelve years old. I lasted only a few weeks, quitting after the guitar teacher told my mother in my presence: "Your son's gonna be another Segovia, but your daughter just hasn't got the touch." I didn't pick up the guitar again for several years, but then re-taught myself the four chords I had learned and forgotten. After all these years, I haven't progressed much beyond that because it is true that I "haven't got the touch", but I've been able to have a lot of fun playing with those four chords.
